sight words
Sight words are simply that words a reader knows by sight. High Frequency Words refers to how often the words are used. These can often have irregular spelling patterns, especially when young children are learning them and haven’t been introduced to more advanced vowels. I believe that sight words should be taught explicitly through orthographic mapping with focus on the parts they do know and we call the parts that are irregular heart sounds.
